Do you notice which plants the bees are working before you notice anything else in a yard? Good — you'll fit right in. We're growing a native, pollinator-friendly garden design and install service, and we're looking for someone to lead it.
This is a brand-new division of Buddha Bee, and you'd be its first leader. Help shape what it becomes.
A beekeeping company, blooming
Founded in 2019, Buddha Bee Apiary is a fully managed beekeeping company. Our team of about 7 manages hives at about 160 homes, schools, farms, and businesses across Charlotte and the NC Triangle.
In 2026 we launched a native pollinator garden design and install division. Fall and spring projects are already in the pipeline, so you'll hit the ground running.
First site visit to finished garden
You'll run our garden program end to end. This is a leadership role, not a drafting job: you'll own the client relationship, the design, the budget, and the install, and help build the team as the program grows.
To start, the work centers on native pollinator plantings and garden enhancements for residential and commercial clients. As the division grows, we want to take on larger design-build projects, including hardscape and full landscape installs. If you've led complex installs, we'd love to talk; you could help us get there faster.
You'll help shape the division's future: its services, processes, tools, and team.
Reports directly to the founder
You won't build it alone. Justin, our founder, works alongside you: bringing in leads, supporting sales and budgeting, and helping build the install team. You lead the work. We'll build the division together.
Your season, start to finish
- 1Lead property assessments and walk clients through what's possible for their space
- 2Turn assessments into proposals, present them to clients, and close projects
- 3Create native planting designs (we welcome AI and design software that speed up the work)
- 4Source plants and materials and build job budgets
- 5Manage installs, crews, and timelines so projects come in on time and on budget
- 6Help shape the program's processes, tools, and future hires
- 7Track completed gardens and gather client feedback to improve future designs
You might be a great fit if you have
- ✦Strong knowledge of native plants of the Southeast
- ✦3+ years of landscape design-build experience, with a strong portfolio of completed work. Senior candidates with complex install experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
- ✦Confident, warm communication with homeowners and business clients
- ✦Organized with budgets, schedules, and details
- ✦Experience with tools like SketchUp, Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or similar is a plus. We also welcome AI tools that speed up the work.
- ✦Hardscape and construction knowledge is a plus
- ✦Valid NC driver's license and a clean driving record (you'll drive a company vehicle)
- ✦A degree in horticulture, landscape design, or a related field is a plus, not a requirement
Boots on, hands in the soil
- ✦Mix of field and office work. Outdoors in all weather during site visits and installs.
- ✦Able to lift 50 lbs, and comfortable walking, kneeling, and digging on job sites.
- ✦Some job sites may have Buddha Bee hives nearby. Garden work doesn't involve the bees, and our beekeepers handle all hive work.
- ✦Spring and fall are our busiest seasons, and some weeks may run longer.
Triangle home, two markets
Home base is the NC Triangle. The division serves both Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte, so expect periodic travel to Charlotte for assessments and installs, growing as our Charlotte client base grows. Company vehicle provided for work travel.
