Buddha Beekeeper -Raleigh, N.C

(Part-Time)

Company Overview

At Buddha Bee Apiary, we’re on a mission to help people fall in love with pollinators—starting with honeybees. Through our Host-a-Hive program, we install and maintain beehives in backyards across North Carolina. We believe that hands-on experiences with beekeeping can inspire change and create more advocates for pollinators. Our beekeepers are passionate about keeping bees healthy and educating others.

Position Description

We’re growing—and with that growth comes an opportunity to welcome a new beekeeper into our team.

This role is a hands-on, part-time position working closely with and taking direction from our Lead Beekeeper. You’ll be immersed in every aspect of colony management—from making splits and feeding colonies to honey extraction and equipment preparation. While prior beekeeping experience is a plus, it’s not required. We believe in teaching, mentoring, and learning together, and we provide on-the-job training for those eager to grow into the craft.

You’ll take ownership of our colony management in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, developing strong observational skills and maintaining thoughtful, detailed inspection notes. This is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of bees, seasons, and ecosystems while building real-world experience in regenerative, sustainability-focused beekeeping.

Equally important, this role is about people. Many of our host partners actively participate in monthly inspections, suiting up alongside us and engaging directly with the hive. We value meaningful connections—sharing knowledge, fostering curiosity, and helping people experience the magic happening inside their colonies. Education, safety, and joy are central to what we do, and each visit is a chance to inspire appreciation for pollinators and the natural world.

If you’re excited by hands-on work, learning through experience, and being part of a mission-driven team that blends ecology, education, and community, this role offers a meaningful path forward.
